Hot House – It’s Nice That

Hothouse Talks

It’s Nice That its nice that

I attended a HotHouse talk from It’s Nice That this lunch time. I would explain who they are but I’ll let them speak for themselves; this is from their website.

‘It’s Nice That believes passionately that creative inspiration is for everyone and by championing the most exciting and engaging work online, in print and through our events programme, we want to open up this world to the widest possible audience.

Founded in 2007, It’s Nice That has grown across many platforms and has a reach of over half a million readers a month. These include the website which is updated daily, a bi-annual magazine Printed Pages, a summer symposium Here and the monthly Nicer Tuesdays talks series.

As well as publishing inspirational work, we also harness this creative expertise to help brands communicate their messages to our audience and beyond through our creative agency INT Works.’

I hadn’t heard of It’s Nice That before, but listening to what they had to say and what they stand for is something I want to  engage with regularly. I think what makes me like it that little bit more is how the company started out as a Uni project…8 years ago. They have come from being classed as a blog, to now being classed as a Media Company.

It was good to see how It’s Nice That represented themselves visually. Because I am in the early stages of developing my own website/blog I have been influenced by the way they use equal amount of imagery and text. They know that in today’s world people have very short attention spans, imagery keeps peoples attention. So their website is heavily image based, which just makes it a great website to visit.
