To fully understand what works and just as importantly what doesn’t work, I have done an audit of various cereal brands that are out there. Creating this board really brings to light how much the colours yellow and blue are used in colouring cereal brands. The colours I am choosing to associate with my brand, only seem to appear when something is wholegrain or chocolate flavoured. I am confident about not using some kind of hideous yellow or blue box for my brand, in doing so my brand will become more of a premium brand.
In the studio we looked at this colour chart. The chart shows what colours mean and which type of brands usually use them. By using this kind of chart, I can begin to understand what values and emotions brands are trying communicate to customers.
