I have been reading a blog post by Jim Prior: why business needs a social purpose? Which is an in-depth analysis about how business’s are benefiting from incorporating a social purpose to their brands. However, Prior goes on to explain “It is important to note that this cannot just be a marketing exercise. It is patently not about putting gloss on evil empires, it is about recalibrating organisations so that society appreciates their contribution as being something about which they care.”

I found the reading of this helpful, it cleared up some issues I had. I thought social purpose was a bit of a scam for companies to make money in different way. Now I understand that this is not usually the case.
