On Friday every body in my studio did a 5 minute presentation on their visual outcomes so far, followed by a 5 minute constructive feedback crit afterwards.
Here is my presentation and roughly what I said.
For my concept board I wanted to capture; rejuvenation, refreshing, natural. I have my target audience, which are young and outgoing people. My brand values are Natural, Refreshing, Unisex, Timeless and Ambitious.
This is my vision mission profile, where I am capturing my brands mission in a friendly, conversational body of text. I am happy with my vision mission profile, however I still felt like it was quite long.
A task we did with Sara lead me to this shortened version of my vision mission profile. This basically says everything the longer version says in a nut shell.
When the brief was set Tom said if you choose to go pharmaceutical make it original. Tom also said he like psychedelic work. So I thought how can I combine the two?
This is a page from my sketch book, experimenting with ink to try and achieve a minimal psychedelic design.
The I selected a part of the ink.
And then started experimenting with layout and designs.
I then applied my branding to different items customers could interact with.
After my presentation everyone in the studio gave their feedback. I was given some good pointers on how to tweak the design, possible fonts to explore and tagline to try out.
I think doing something like this presentation is great. It gets out talking about your work, which can make you realise if something needs changing. Its good to hear peoples feedback, because it’s easy to get stuck into my work and not take a moment to look at what I’m doing.
