In response to feedback from the presentation, I have been developing a few different outcomes for my logo.
One comment that came up a lot was to try and join the foot of the serifs in the word KIND. I thought that this sounded like a good idea too. However when I have done it, it starts to over complicate the word. It looks as if I have tried to put some kind of hidden pattern, shape or design in the word. Almost resembling roman numerals. And when I put that with the ink splat. It’s even more over complicated.
This typeface DINN is working much better with the ink splat. The ink splat is intricate so to have even more going on in the typeface seems wrong. A simple typeface is much more successful at getting a clear neutral message across.
Although I do now want the ’embrace yourself’ tag line to sit directly under the platform that is created under the letter KIN. I’m not sure if it’s working though. I feel as if it really makes the KIN stand out detaching it from the letter D.
I will be working at refining this design further, finding out which way works best.
Working from feedback is a massive help, its easy to think yes I’m doing this right it looks great, nothing wrong with it. But to hear peoples thoughts is so valuable. Because if this product is for public consumption then it needs to please everybody else rather then myself.
