I have been experimenting with motifs for possible logo outcomes. I have chosen to pursue a hexagon shape, to communicate a natural geometry, similar to a bee hive.
Upon researching 3D art work made from books, I came across Art Made From Books by Laura Hyena. I have become specifically interested in pieces of work that jump from the page with high energy (image below).
I am narrowing my research onto 3D pieces, which I think communicate the feeling of ‘reading’. I am doing this to start generating my own ideas to communicate reading as a 3D visual.
I am currently researching 3D designs, which feels a bit unusual, but I’m enjoying what I’m finding, and I feel inspired to move forward with ideas.
I have been experimenting with brand application. I wanted to not just apply the logo onto a bag or cup, like I had previously been doing.
After taking a step back and conducting further research with my chosen colour and style I began experimenting with layout.
I have come to realise that my branding wasn’t executed successfully. It is a hard decision to scrap the work that I have done over the past month, however it needs doing. My branding was the product of not much exploration. I have taken a few steps back, to rethink how my brand can work.
