When exploring typography, we focused on signage, publications and hand-outs. We were aiming for minimal aesthetics hoping to use a Swiss typeface, for it’s cleanliness, readability and objectivity.
I was inspired by band posters designed by Mike Joyce that incorporated a Swiss Style. I want to pursue similar styles to these posters, not necessarily any colour aspects, but the layout and design, because of it’s simplicity and clear concept.
After some brain-storming we decided that incorporating our idea of using dim lighting to create a defused aesthetic, with the use of typography, lead us to become interested in the use of lit signage. I think this could be successful at communicating the theme dusk, because of the defused, glow affect that is created whilst using dimly lit signage.
