I am developing tag lines and messaging for my brand, I have taken some of my ideas into poster mock up, because I find a written sentence in a sketchbook might sound good but when I put it next to the logo it might not work as well.
I think I find ‘beginning/middle/end‘ more successful because it’s more abstract which creates an intriguing message. However, even though I do enjoy the other variations ‘celebrate literacy‘, ‘discover literacy‘ and ‘festival of literacy‘, and I wouldn’t go as far as saying that they are unsuccessful, I do find them to be too basic, literal and explanatory.
I have been developing lanyards that would be worn at the event, my first designs (above) were unsuccessful because I had slipped into my old habit of just applying my logo to things and calling it branding.
So taking a step back and remembering what I told myself I need to focus on with regards to incorporating colour as the main element of my branding, I started to design whilst using my brand colours separately.
I am unsure how I feel about these as they stand, I need to leave them alone for a while and come back with fresh eyes to see if I like them or not. I can say at the moment I don’t like the stripes, it just looks unimaginative.
