I have been developing my feature experience for my cafe, which I have been struggling to come up with ideas for. I felt I couldn’t create something that was to do with my brand that a customer could interact with. I think the idea just confused my a little bit, but now I have taken an idea forward, the idea to have price tags on the pieces of furniture that are for sale around the cafe.
I have used some light hearted messaging to create a friendly and conversational tone. I am also experimenting with some further branding by incorporating illustrations of furniture, to get away from sticking my logo on everything.
My main logo typeface is very bold and visually striking, but I needed to accompany the logo with some kind of separate element. So the image isn’t too busy, I have decided to go for fine line drawings, and even for the sub heading “the social workshop” I have chosen a finer typeface.
Taking these new elements into brand application, I can now see how the brand communicates whilst not just showing the logo. I think this experimentation with the fine line drawings is a successful one because I am communicating the brand identity, and the imagery of furniture which lies at the core of my whole experience.
I have also created some aged wall mock ups to see how the new elements could be used in different spaces.
